Millennium Church at Tor Tre Teste
Rome, Italy

Description: An open competition submitted in the context of working for a Paris architectural office, the proposal calls for a 3 dimensional Greek cross church enclosed within a perforated steel panel cube. The panels of the steel are gradually more perforated as the eye moves up the perfect cube, revealing the main sculptural body of the church. The cube has the added possibility of incorporating a larger congregation in the open air setting of the piazza in front of the church. A series of community rooms and classrooms are located underneath the piazza, opposite the priest's residence and the Baptistery. This proposal yielded an honorable mention from the jury.
